Hi my name is M.Jay aged 34.
As a former gang leader and a young career criminal I put all my effort into committing and encouraging other people to committ serious crime. I was formely responsible for destroying communities and showed a total disregard for anyone or anything. At aged 17 (2000) I was sent to a young offenders institution for possessing a firearm and robbery and sentanced to 6 years. Young offenders struggled to manage my disruptive behaviour and I was starred up at the age of 19 and housed in Adult prison with older people, however this did not stop my desire for disruption and self distruction.One day I decided to escaped from prison and whilst on the run for 8 weeks I committed further armed robberies. After a high speed pursuit through south Manchester I was arrested and sentance to life in prison at the age of 19 in 2001. It was ordered that I be made a Category A prison and housed in Maximum security prison. I still did not settle and contined to self destruct. As soon as I turned 21 I was removed from normal location and placed into a deep custordy which is reserved for the most dangerious and distruptive prisoners in the UK, which is basically solitary confinements where I was housed for 5 years. In total I spent 15 years in custordy.
I used my time in deep custordy to self educate and commence a total introspection and dissemination of the person I had become. I then based the process of self education on formal educaton and embarked on a degree amongst other things including mentoring and tutoring qualifications. Whilst in custordy I founded my own training Academy business aimed at upskilling prisoners towards employment in the renewable energy industry and embarked on leading a team of serving prisoners in delivering renewable qualifications to other offenders. The same week I was released I started another company which gave young unemployed people work experience in the energy industry and formal qualifications whilst asisting the back into work. I also undertaken work as a positive life coach.
I still have both companies and I am now seeking a new challege, which is to mentor and build aspirations amongst young people.
