VIDEO GAME AND DVD SHOP FOR SALE 185K TURNOVER - SELLING 28K DUE TO RETIREMENT INCLUDES 24k STOCK
£28.000
Description
Selling Reluctantly due to injury and forced early retirement due to that injury . Success and growth figures are all there in black and white and ratified by professional accountants and are logged with HMRC. This is an absolute steal for any buyer. I do not wish to sell but a severe injury has left me no choice.
Prime location
Little competition (Tesco ten minutes away - very few new games and no old games)
Brand new and preowned trading
Large customer base
Fantastic reputation locally
Easy to run, thanks to the procedures and practicies I have created
Heaving with stock
I do not buy in large deliveries or do hardware consoles due to the weight of them and my injury. If you do start stocking consoles and also trading in and selling preowned consoles , along with buying in large deliveries too, you can easily hit 250k +
You could do away with the DVD side of the business and do computer/console/mobile phone repairs. I know nothing about repairs but I send around 60 people a week to repair shops in other areas that I know of. The Dvds are an extremely profitable side of the business but its very easy to convert the dvd side of the store to repairs if you so wish.
Registered as Sole Trader. Any buyer therefore has NO historical debts, loans or equipment leases to inherent. You just come in and make money from day one.
The entire business including all fixtures, fittings, 24k of stock, equipment, goodwill, preordr database with hundreds of preorders, social media facebook page with 1500 customers and the shareplay website with 134k hits is £28000. Thats right that is for everything INCLUDING stock. Please dont ask for a lower price - this is already an absolute bargain and I have set the price based on my need for a quick sale due to injury.
If the following seems too good to be true, ask to see our yearly accounts. five years ago we started with a £1000 loan and now have a huge turnover. our first year turnover was 25k - now four years later it is 185k, thats a massive increase in growth and turnover each year.
Such is the popularity of the business and the items it sells. I hope to find a buyer who can continue to give our customers the level of service they are accustomed to and deserve. This is a walk in and run business and I am available for a transition period period of four weeks after the sale in order to work with you and your staff in order to learn the mechanics of the business and operate equipment/computer systems. I am also available to offer advice on stock order levels etc for the six months following the sale of the business to you.

Selling the store due to a persistent shoulder injury that will require me to be out of action for 1.5 years in order to rectify.
You are buying a business that took 20k per year four years ago and now turns over 185k per year and growing , a solid customer base, future sales already logged on our preorder system and more.
You can set your lease term with the shopping centre and bring in your own staff straight away there is currently no staff tied to the shop.
Rent is £900 per month
Service charge is £1300 per quarter
Rates are £0
Optional but recommended costs are £70 per quarter for the website £10 for the live chats service and £70 per month for the loyalty card system - well worth the outlay as the sales it attracts more than outway the cost.
We have some amazing customers and would require a buyer who can deliver the same level of service to our local customers as we do, most of whom we know on a first name basis. We have built up a large base over the last five years and do no wish to turn over the store to buyers who do not share the same service ethics as we do, as we want to know our customers are going to be in good hands.
I will be available to offer advice by phone to a buyer over the first 6 months after the sale while I undergo physio. Should you need to know about what stock levels to buy in the lead up to Christmas and what format amounts you should buy, I can certainly help with that.
if an operation is required on my shoulder I will not be available for advice after that time.
Our computer system has all the preprogrammed links and services you will need such as Links to the microsoft and Sony store to print points and subscriptions, and an easy to use preorder system to preorder upcoming titles for your customers
This business requires staff who can multitask in order to serve customers, contact suppliers, process new and preowned stock etc. (I am available to help new buyers, by working with them in the store for two weeks after the sale in order to ease the transfer process and help them to orientate)
Set up for maximum efficiency, after two weeks of orientation, you would be able to run the store as I do now. I have single handedly brought in 185k last year and thats all thanks to the efficiency setup of every aspect of the shop. Five years of setup, upgrades, planning and programming have gone towards a setup that is easy to run from opening until close.
No timewasters please. we will happily discuss details to the full with any genuine interested buyer.

UPDATE - Questions asked by interested buyers...
Are we Vat registered?
Yes we are and have been since day one, all our figures are ratified by professional accountants and all accounts are logged with HMRC - Fully ratified yearly figures are available to prove all turnover figures etc are correct.
Are there any quiet periods?
Yes - May and the first three weeks of June. Mostly due to world cup/ euro and sports events. Summer holidays are busy, August gets progressively busy towards the end of the month, Sept until february is an absolute blur as all the large scale releases are over that time. March and April are quite busy due to school holidays, Easter, Commnions, Valentines day and mothers day.
May and June should be used to do any shop bay moves (expanded or decreasing sections to suit sales), doing stocktakes and masterbags, performing systems upgrades or training as you will find this difficult to do during any other months when you are busy and need maximum customer focus to reap the most from the busy periods.
How is your relationship with the shopping centre
In a word - excellent, we touch base with both Centre Management and security daily and have an excellent Rapport with all. They love having a game shop in the centre for obvious reasons and know we are important in attracting in certain demographics.
If in the area pop in and see us, either for a visit or covertly and have a look at the entire setup, we have shelves full of stock with more to replenish. What sets us apart from the others is that we have all of our games arranged in Genre so its easy to find the type of games that you like, our dvd's are in sections such as horror, action etc and are in alphabetically order so that customers can browse by genre or film title and also to enable staff to find a requested film in seconds. We also offer next day ordering on most films and we can track down rare movies for customers too. All search and ordering systems are also setup for efficiency.
