What Sage say about the rod............
Introducing the New Ultra High-Performance TCX Series
The Wow Cast. The Holy Smokes Cast. The highly coveted Are You Kiding Me Cast
These are just a few of the new casts dicovered by Jerry Siem, Sage's rod designer and chief guru during the developement of the TCX fly rods. Jerry has created a radical new series of fly rod tapers in order to harness the increased energy produced by Sage's Generation V Technology.
The TCX series also utilize the lastest Fibre Alignment and Graphite Core Wrap Technologies. The result is a fly rod that's much lighter(upwards of 20%) stronger and more powerful than its predecessor. Most importantly, the enhanced line feel means intuitively better timing and an extraordinary level of casting ease
.
SAGE’S TCX SERIES REDEFINES THE EXTREME DISTANCE CATEGORY IN TWO-HANDED RODS.
If the water is wide, and the currents are running swift, this is the rod of choice. TCX two-handed rods are lightweight, strong and powerful. The enhanced line feel and feedback mean intuitively better timing and an extraordinary level of casting ease for ultra-high performance fly rods.

My thoughts on this rod:
The 15ft TCX is a much more user friendly tool than its predecessor the TCR. The TCX is an absolute canon. It will easily handle 700gr Skagits with heavy tips, but will just as easily throw a 10/11 shooting head. Sage advertised this blank as "Ultra Fast", but in reality it's just fast, though nowhere near as quick as the TCR. More of a "Fishing" rod as opposed to a casting tool as was the case with the TCR 15ft'er.
I've a surplus of 15ft'ers and only one pair of hands so I'm putting this one up for sale. Rod has had minimal use and is in mint condition, as I hope the photos highlight.
Rod is in Perthshire so can be collected in person if you're local.
Please feel to ask any questions.
