Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Somerset are all recruiting
Attend local healthcare meetings to ensure local people’s voices are heard and acted upon by policy and decision makers.
This is an opportunity for Champion volunteers who would like to get further involved.
What will I be doing?
•Attend a health or social care meeting in either BaNES, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Somerset or Swindon.
•Prepare for your meeting by reading meeting papers and preparing information to share with the meeting group
•Feed in the views and experiences of local people by telling the meeting what Healthwatch has been told by the public
•Write a record of important discussions that came out of the meeting
•Share your record with your local Healthwatch so we can stay up to date with developments in local healthcare
•(optional) Attend community events and engagement stands to seek the public’s opinions of local health and social care services and promote Healthwatch.
This is an important and worthwhile role that will influence and improve how local healthcare services are run in your community.

Personal qualities needed for the role
•Good listening skills and confidence to speak up at meetings
•Passion for improving local health and social care services
•Ability to write concise feedback about your meeting
•Reliability
•Ability to dedicate around four hours a month
•Ability to travel to your meeting
•Respectful of all people from all backgrounds.
No experience is required as full support and training will be given. We can support you to find a meeting that suits your availability and interests.
