Description
Martin D-21 Special in excellent condition, made in late 2007 and complete with the original hardshell case.
This is not the same guitar as Martin\'s more recent D-21 run.
This D-21 Special (produced in very limited quantities) has an ebony fretboard and pyramid bridge, as well as rosewood body binding and herringbone rosette and backstrip.
Featuring a beautiful Sitka Spruce top with some \'bearclaw\' figure and with forward shifted scalloped X bracing paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, this Martin has a very similar specification to the HD-28V while also boasting a fingerpicking-friendly 1 3/4" nut width and modern C shaped neck profile.
The guitar has a balanced, dry tone with a solid bass and a sparkling top end that produces a very clear, defined sound.
The spanish cedar neck has a comfortable low oval profile carve, easy playing in every register and capped with a solid ebony fingerboard. The original frets are flawless, and the fretboard features snowflake inlay.
It has a traditional 25.4" dreadnought scale, and the carved bone nut measures 1 3/4" in width, ideal for fingerpicking. The headstock has a rosewood veneer and gold Martin script logo, and the tuners are vintage-style Gotoh (Martin branded).
The body features a small footprint carved ebony pyramid bridge with bone saddle, and tortoise pickguard.
The aged toner top is complemented with rosewood binding, and a herringbone rosette and backstrip.
The rosewood back and sides are visually stunning, with dark black stripes segmenting the chocolate colour of the wood. The guitar has a few very minor cosmetic marks, but not very noticeable and the condition is generally excellent.
The original Martin Geib-style hardshell case is included.
